Jakarta, July 23, 2025 – In an effort to strengthen good corporate governance practices, PT Perta Life Insurance (PertaLife Insurance) held a sharing session for the Board of Commissioners (BoC) and Board of Directors (BoD), featuring Mei Sugiharso, a member of the Audit Committee of PertaLife Insurance, as the main speaker. The session was attended by members of the Board of Commissioners, Board of Directors, and key management representatives.
The event aimed to equip PertaLife Insurance leaders with a deeper understanding of the strategic roles and responsibilities of the Board of Commissioners and the Board of Directors, as well as the importance of exercising prudence in decision-making in accordance with legal and governance frameworks.
Director of PertaLife Insurance, Alfa Niasari Utami, stated that strengthening governance capacity must become part of the company’s organizational culture.
“We believe that strong corporate governance is the foundation of sustainability. Sharing sessions like this are important to align the understanding between the Board of Commissioners and the Board of Directors, ensuring that every decision made is not only sound from a business perspective but also accountable from ethical and legal standpoints,” said Alfa.
In his presentation, Mei Sugiharso emphasized the importance of clear role awareness and boundaries of responsibility among the company’s governing bodies.
“Oftentimes, the root of organizational problems starts from unclear distinctions between the roles of the Board of Commissioners and the Board of Directors. A deep understanding of principles such as the Business Judgment Rule, as well as the importance of documenting opinions during meetings, will greatly assist in mitigating risks in the future,” he explained.
One of the participants, Adelia Rizki Ananda from the Risk Management Department, appreciated the session and found the material highly relevant.
“Mr. Mei’s presentation opened a new perspective for me; every strategic decision must be grounded in legal and governance considerations, not merely business instincts. This greatly enriches my insight as part of the company’s risk management team,” she said.
PertaLife Insurance remains committed to fostering a leadership culture grounded in integrity, transparency, and collaboration among all internal stakeholders. PLI.
