Pulau Kelapa, June 16, 2025 – In the spirit of ONE Pertamina, a social service and literacy initiative was once again organized to support the improvement of coastal communities’ quality of life, particularly in the Kepulauan Seribu area. Carrying the theme “Penguatan Pola Hidup Bersih dan Sehat (PHBS) dan Gizi Anak,” strengthening clean and healthy living behavior and child nutrition. The activity was held at RPTRA Nyiur Melambai and SDN 01 Pulau Kelapa.
This activity was part of the 40th anniversary series of PT PertaLife Insurance (PertaLife Insurance) under the theme “Energizing Your Healthy Life” while also commemorating the 25th anniversary of the Persatuan Wanita Patra (PWP) Central Board of PT Pertamina EP, two significant milestones that reinforce the spirit of synergy in delivering sustainable social impact.
The series of activities included health education for pregnant women and toddlers, dental check-ups for elementary school students, distribution of nutrition packages, and financial literacy sessions introducing the importance of life insurance and pension planning for a more secure and well-prepared future.
Ratih Triutami Wijayanti, Head of Corporate Communication of PertaLife Insurance, stated, “As part of the celebration of PertaLife’s 40th anniversary, we want to encourage communities not only to live healthier lives but also to be more financially prepared. Literacy on life insurance and pension funds is an important provision for facing the future with peace of mind.”
The program was also integrated with the Seribu Asa Program, a community development initiative by PHE OSES that focuses on reducing stunting and improving nutrition for toddlers and pregnant women in the Kepulauan Seribu region.
Indra Darmawan, Head of Communication, Relations & CID Zone 6, added, “This activity reflects the collaborative spirit of ONE Pertamina that brings real benefits. Through this joint program, we aim to support local governments in providing basic healthcare services and financial education to communities on Pulau Kelapa. We hope that awareness of the importance of health and financial protection can grow from communities like these.”
Muslim, Head of Desa Pulau Kelapa, expressed gratitude for the support from PERTAMINA. “On behalf of the local government and the people of Pulau Kelapa, I would like to express our gratitude to Pertamina. Community development programs targeting fishermen, housewives, and toddlers affected by stunting are very beneficial for island communities.”
The active involvement of the Persatuan Wanita Patra Tingkat Pusat Pertamina EP became one of the main driving forces behind the success of this initiative. The support from PWP administrators and volunteers demonstrated genuine concern for family health and well-being.
Ninuk Wisnu Hindadari, Chairperson of Persatuan Wanita Patra Tingkat Pusat PT Pertamina EP, also shared, “The health of mothers and children is an investment for the future. We are here to share spirit and genuine care through direct action in the field. We are also very pleased to collaborate with PertaLife Insurance in this activity. Hopefully, this synergy will continue and bring even greater benefits.”
The event concluded with a visit to the Section for Management of the National Park Area 1 at Pulau Kelapa Dua to participate in a turtle hatchling release activity. A total of 10 hawksbill turtle hatchlings (*Hawksbill Sea Turtle – Eretmochelys imbricata), aged 1–2 months, were released into the sea as part of environmental conservation efforts. The hawksbill turtle is classified as critically endangered on the IUCN Red List, mainly due to poaching and habitat destruction. This symbolic action served as a reminder of the importance of collaboration in preserving marine ecosystems, particularly in conservation areas such as the Kepulauan Seribu.
The activity involved more than 130 participants, including volunteers, medical personnel, PWP administrators, and educational teams from the Pertamina Group. This collaboration is expected to continue as a tangible manifestation of a shared commitment to sustainability and the welfare of Indonesian communities. PLI.
