Jakarta – The Director of Finance and Investment of PertaLife Insurance, Sigit Panilih, achieved a proud milestone by winning the Indonesia Best CFO Awards 2026, organized by Warta Ekonomi on Friday, February 27, 2026, in Senayan. The award is an appreciation given to Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) for their strategic contributions in maintaining company financial performance while driving sustainable business growth.
Amid Indonesia’s economic uncertainty, the role of CFOs has become vital in ensuring business continuity through adaptation and innovation, particularly in the digital era. A CFO no longer functions solely as a financial report manager but also as a strategic management partner in determining the company’s business direction. This award serves as recognition of the crucial role the corporate finance function plays in ensuring financial stability, prudent risk management, and the ability to adapt to ever-evolving industry dynamics.
The CEO and Chief Editor of Warta Ekonomi Group, Muhamad Ihsan, stated the importance of the CFO’s role as a driver of business strategy and ensuring financial performance remains stable amidst dynamics. “In this situation, the CFO’s role is crucial, not just as a financial manager, but as an innovator, strategic decision-maker, and leader of digital transformation. Our research indicates that only 11.3% of the companies we studied successfully balanced operational costs and operational income (with an OER/Operating Expense Ratio in the 1-50% range). This shows that operational cost efficiency remains a challenge for most companies,” Ihsan said in his opening remarks.
Sigit Panilih, Director of Finance and Investment at PertaLife Insurance, expressed his gratitude for the award. “This award is not an individual achievement but the result of the hard work of all PertaLife Insurance ‘Perwira’ (employees) who remain committed to conducting digital, adaptive, and sustainable financial transformation. The financial transformation we are implementing focuses on strengthening governance, process digitalization, prudent risk management, and creating long-term sustainable value. In the life insurance industry, financial stability and sustainability are the primary foundations to ensure we can continue to protect the future of Indonesian families,” said Sigit.
Acting VP Corporate Secretary of PertaLife Insurance, Ridky J. Sitorus, noted that the Indonesia Best CFO Awards 2026 serves as strong evidence of the company’s consistency in maintaining healthy and sustainable financial performance. “This award reflects not only leadership capabilities in the financial sector but also solid collaboration across functions in implementing Good Corporate Governance (GCG). PertaLife Insurance will continue to push for transparency, accountability, and innovation in financial management to create added value for all stakeholders,” Ridky said.
The Indonesia Best CFO Awards 2026 were presented to CFOs judged to have successfully steered their companies with visionary leadership, played a role in driving economic recovery, and strengthened innovation in the financial sector. Other companies receiving awards included PT Asuransi Central Asia, PT BNI Life Insurance, PT Asuransi Ciputra Indonesia, PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Persero), PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk, and PT Transportasi Jakarta, among others.
PertaLife Insurance is committed to further strengthening the strategic role of the finance function to support business transformation and maintain company sustainability. Through this achievement, PertaLife Insurance is increasingly optimistic about providing added value and real contributions to the national insurance industry by optimizing digital-based services and improving human resource quality. These steps are taken to address industry challenges while meeting the evolving protection needs of the public. PLI
